I am an Spanish expat living in Lima. I am married to an Australian diplomat and have three beautiful children under 7: Aurelia, the eldest, was born in Argentina; and the other two boys, Gabriel and Juanan, in Manila. I met Nick on a plane from Madrid to London. Nick was fluent in Spanish but I hardly spoke any English until we moved to Australia in 2003.
However, despite the difficult beginning I found my own way. It wasn't my law degree or my masters in International relations; neither course in the International House in Madrid to teach Spanish. It was my constant private ritual in my life: cooking. This regular practice in the kitchen became a passion and this passion gave me a joy that I slowly discovered through a real journey from beginning to end
